It's Football Season!

All of the angels and saints are looking down at us, the poor sports fans of the world. The last two weeks have been as dead as it gets in the world of sports durig the year.
However, today, YES TODAY, the sports world begins to wake up from its slumber. Why? Because the first NFL training camp opens this evening. This year, the honor goes to my beloved Philadelphia Eagles.
The 2005 season was not kind to the birds. Terrell Owens reverted back to his "Leon" personality, which divided the locker room. Injuries on both sides of the ball hit the team hard. McNabb, Westbrook, Pinkston, Farley, Thomas were all lost to the season at some point, due to injury. Right there represented 54.5% of starters on offense.
Defense was not spared either. Lito Sheppard blew out an ankle halfway through the season. And special teams? Both the puter, Dirk Johnson, and the kicker David Akers missed a good portion of the season to injury. You know it is not your year, when both your punter and kicker get hurt.
But 2005 has ended, and now 2006 is about to begin. T.O. has taken his me-first show to the Dallas Cowboys. I do laugh at the folks who think T.O. will be good this year. Just wait, he will blow up the Cowboys like he blew up the Eagles. My over/under for that to occur is mid-October.
Nonetheless, the expectations are low for the Eagles this season. Many are already predicting the Eagles to finish last in the division. These predictions will only make this season much sweeter. I am not going to fully give my prediction for the Eagles, or NFC East, or the entire NFL for another month. But I will give you one small tibit of it today:
There will only be one team above .500 in the NFC East this season. This team will be located in Philadelphia.
