Is this the last time?

After watching the Tonight's Vikings-Packers game, I realize that it is time to start the debate that will take over in a few weeks. Will Brett Favre return?

I say yes. He can still play, and he has enough support to keep him competetive. Favre just went through a season with a lot of Young players, and next year should be a payoff year for the Packers. I don't know why he would retire now.

But that is not the point of this, I ask all of you to voice your opinion below in the Comments section with your reason why. Lets see what the Voice of the 'chair says about this.

Time to go. I've seen nothing this season which indicates Favre is of any value, except maybe as a backup somewhere, a la Kurt Warner. Aaron Rodgers was the consensus best QB of his draft already way behind his contemporaries in NFL experience. Favre deserves to go out on his own terms and if he chooses to play again allow him the dignity to make his own deal, but Green Bay needs to respectfully show him the door.

I'd still pick Favre over Rodgers in terms of quality. I don't care if Rodgers has missed out on experience - if Favre is still the better player you have to go with him. If he's still better than any other QB in Green Bay, why wouldn't you keep him? And isn't he only 5 wins off being Number 1 All-Time QB Wins?

Am I the only one who could see Favre go to another team and try to tack on a few extra crappy seasons? A la Marcus Allen, Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Reggie White, Franco Harris, Tony Dorsett, Eddie George, Emmitt Smith, Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth...

I could see Favre doing that and spending some time with another team. I dont want to see it because much like I think of Emmit and JErry as Niners and Cowboys I want to alwyas think of Favre as a Packer. That being said, I do think he can still play and play at a fairly high level, especially if he was with a better team. So if moving him to a new team is what it takes to stay on the field for a few more season, then I guess thats what I have to hope for.

Reminds me of the "I will always remember Jerry Rice will always be an Oakland Raider" game... (Manny will remember this) Favre will always be remembered as a Packer.

I hope this is the end for Favre. He should have packed it in a few years ago. He needs to go, like yesterday. He stays any longer, he WILL tarnish his legacy.

This year he was far better than last year and he looked to be having more fun. I've always hated the Packers, but loved Brett Favre. In a weak division such as the NFC north, the Packers could be a playoff team next year. It's not like he'd only be playing to break records.
