Interleague

Back in 1997 when interleague play first started there was on goal in mind: allow fans to watch players from the other league. Well would it not be more interesting if interleague play was switched around. I am saying that in the AL parks the pitchers hit and in the NL parks there is a DH. Wouldn't the fans get a taste of what the opposing league is like. I think that would be interesting from a fans standpoint. So those season ticket holders get to see a few games using the opposite rules. This just an idea I thought would be interesting.

It's not a new idea. But let's try it on for size. So when you pay $200 a crappy-view ticket to watch the Mets/Cardinals/Dodgers/etc come to your home town and you get to see Tim Wakefield attempt to make contact for 3 at-bats and one David Ortiz pinch hit at-bat, remember you WANTED to consider this idea...

well Ortiz could also play first and move Youkilis to 3rd or give him a day off, that wouldn't be so bad. Have you considered looking from the National League. Your team is playing Boston and you can't see Ortiz hit because the pitchers hit. It works both ways.

and then Ortiz makes two errors and you lose. Also, you play a series, not just one game. THREE games of Ortiz at first will fill the heart care floors of many Boston hospitals. If you are a fan of an AL team, SCREW the NL cities and their fans. You pay your DH, they don't. Don't hurt YOUR local fanbase, just a simple rule to abide by...

Ortiz would not start at first all three games. If you knew anything about the Red Sox you would know that. You would also know Mike Lowell and Kevin Youkilis are pretty good themselves.

How about the NL just adopt the DH so we can all be happy.

Would MLB eliminate managers then? Why doesn't the AL eliminate the DH and play real baseball?

Because its stupid to force pitchers to hit. They are irrelevant most of the time in the NL. Pitchers should pitch and Hitters should hit. That's the logical way.

It is worth getting rid of the DH just to put an end to Bonds' career.

Meaning that Bonds cannot hide out in the AL next season...
