[edit] Biography

Ingle Martin (born Harry Ingle Martin IV) is currently a quarterback in the National Football League for the Green Bay Packers. A fifth round selection in the 2006 NFL Draft, Martin played his college ball at Furman University. He made the Packers's roster as the third-string QB behing Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.

A top recruit out of high school, Martin originally went to the University of Florida to play for the highly successful Steve Spurrier. Upon Spurrier's exit to the NFL, however, Martin was caught in limbo, as new Florida coach Ron Zook felt pressure from fans to play freshman Chris Leak in Martin's sophomore season.

Martin did not give up on football, though, and he had two highly successful years with the Paladins.

Martin is a superb athlete, as he played quarterback, punter, and sometimes safety for his high school, Montgomery Bell Academy. In one memorable game, Martin ran for a 26 yard, go-ahead score in the final seconds of a victory over the highly ranked The Bolles School. Before the game, the coach of Bolles' team allegedly told Martin's coach that due to Bolles's national ranking, the coach would have to run up the score to keep pace with the other highly ranked teams. Unfortunately for Bolles, they hadn't scouted Ingle too well.
