Born on September 15, 1897 in New York, New York, Hugh McQuillan (Hugh A. McQuillan) played for the Boston Braves and New York Giants over the course of his 10 year career. McQuillan broke into the bigs on July 26, 1918 with the Boston Braves, and put up a 3.45 ERA in 60 innings pitched in 1919, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Hugh McQuillan's best season was 1924, when he posted a 2.69 ERA and won 14 games.
