Howie Long (Howard M. Long) was born on January 6, 1960 in Somerville, Massachusetts. After going to high school at Milford (MA), Long attended Villanova University. Long made his professional debut in the NFL in 1981 with the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Los Angeles Raiders and Oakland Raiders over the course of his 13 year career.
Most people believe that 1983 was Howie Long's best year, as he recorded 13 sacks.
Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.
