Herman Edwards (Herman Lee Edwards) was born on April 27, 1954 in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. After going to high school at Monterey (CA), Edwards attended Monterey Peninsula College, San Diego State University and Univeristy of California. Edwards made his professional debut in the NFL in 1977 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams over the course of his 10 year career.
Most people believe that 1978 was Herman Edwards's best year, as he picked off 7 passes and ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
