Herm Sawyer (Herman W. Saywer) was born on October 18, 1898. After going to high school at Missoula (MT), Sawyer attended Syracuse University. Sawyer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1922 with the Rochester Jeffersons. He played for the Rochester Jeffersons for his entire 1 year career.
