Herb Schell (Herbert Phillip Schell) was born on January 5, 1902 in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Commerce (Columbus, OH), Schell attended Ohio State University. Schell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1924 with the Columbus Tigers. He played for the Columbus Tigers for his entire 1 year career.
