Born on June , 1858 in Vergennes, Vermont, Henry Porter (Walter Henry Porter) played for the Milwaukee Grays, Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers and Kansas City Cowboys over the course of his 6 year career. Porter broke into the bigs on September 27, 1884 with the Milwaukee Grays, and put up a 3.00 ERA in 51 innings pitched in 1884, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Henry Porter's best season was 1885, when he posted a 2.78 ERA, won 33 games and struck out 197 batters.
