Hawk Taylor (Robert Dale Taylor) was born on April 3, 1939 in Metropolis, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on June 9, 1957 for the Milwaukee Braves. In 1964, his rookie year, he hit .240 with 4 home runs and 23 RBI. Taylor played for the Milwaukee Braves, New York Mets, California Angels and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 11 year career.
