Harry Wolverton (Harry Sterling Wolverton) was born on December 6, 1873 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on September 25, 1898 for the Chicago Orphans. In 1899, his rookie year, he hit .285 with 1 home run and 49 RBI. Wolverton played for the Chicago Orphans, Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Senators, Boston Beaneaters and New York Highlanders over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Harry Wolverton's best season was 1903, when he hit for a .308 average and knocked in 53 runs.
