Born on October 25, 1855 in Syracuse, New York, Harry McCormick (Patrick Henry McCormick) played for the Syracuse Stars, Worcester Ruby Legs and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 4 year career. McCormick broke into the bigs on May 1, 1879 with the Syracuse Stars, and put up a 2.99 ERA in 457.1 innings pitched in 1879, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Harry McCormick's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1879, when he posted a 2.99 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 96 batters. However, others believe that it was 1882, when he posted a 1.52 ERA and won 14 games.
