Harry Clark (Harry Charles Clark) was born on December 1, 1917 in Cumberland, Maryland. After going to high school at Uniontown (PA), Clark attended West Virginia University. Clark made his professional debut in the NFL in 1940 with the Chicago Bears. He played in the NFL for 4 years, playing for the Chicago Bears the entire time. Clark also played in the AAFC for 3 years, playing for the Los Angeles Dons the entire time.

Most people believe that 1943 was Harry Clark's best year, as he ran for 556 yards, had 535 receiving yards, caught 7 TD passes, picked off 5 passes and ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
