Hal Luby (Hugh Max Luby) was born on June 13, 1913 in Blackfoot, Idaho. He made his Major League debut on September 10, 1936 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1944, his rookie year, he hit .254 with 2 home runs and 35 RBI. Luby played for the Philadelphia Athletics and New York Giants over the course of his 2 year career.
