Hal Carlson (Harold Edwin Carlson) was born on January 22, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois. After going to high school at Bowen (Chicago, IL), Carlson attended Depaul University and Northwestern University. Carlson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1937 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals for his entire 1 year career.
