Gus Goetz (Angus Gerald Goetz) was born on July 6, 1897 in De Tour, Michigan. After going to high school at Sault St. Marie (MI), Goetz attended the University of Michigan. Goetz made his professional debut in the NFL in 1922 with the Buffalo All-Americans. He played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the Columbus Tigers and Buffalo All-Americans over the course of his 2 year NFL career.Goetz also played in the AFLG for 1 year, playing for the New York Yankees the entire time.
