[edit] Biography

Greg Zaun (Gregory Owen Zaun) was born on April 14, 1971 in Glendale, California. He made his Major League debut on June 24, 1995 for the Baltimore Orioles. In 1996, his rookie year, he hit .245 with 2 home runs and 15 RBI. Zaun played for the Baltimore Orioles, Florida Marlins, Texas Rangers, Kansas City Royals, Houston Astros, Colorado Rockies and Toronto Blue Jays over the course of his 12 year career.

Zaun is a player that was named in baseball's Mitchell Report. According to the report, Jason Grimsley referred Zaun to former Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski. Through another person, Radomski allegedly sent Zaun an order for Deca-Durabolin and Winstrol, and he produced a check from Zaun as proof of payment.

Also, in 2003, Luis Perez, a bullpen catcher for the Montreal Expos, told members of the Commissioner's Office that he had provided anabolic steroids to Zaun, as well as several other players.

Like many other players, Zaun declined to meet with investigators for the Mitchell report.

Most people believe that Greg Zaun's best season was 2005, when he knocked in 61 runs.
