Born on January 2, 1965 in Fort Worth, Texas, Greg Swindell (Forest Gregory Swindell) played for the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros, Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks over the course of his 17 year career. Swindell broke into the bigs on August 21, 1986 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 4.23 ERA in 61.2 innings pitched in 1986, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Greg Swindell's best season was 1988, when he posted a 3.20 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 180 batters.
