Golden Sombrero
In baseball, a player is "awarded" the golden sombrero when he or she strikes out four times in a single game. A platinum sombrero applies to a player striking out five times in a game.
The term derives from "hat trick", a hockey term for three goals that was applied to baseball for three strikeouts. The rationale is that four is bigger than three and thus the "hat" for four should be much bigger, like a sombrero.
