Golden Boot (LSU-Arkansas)
[edit] Summary
The Golden Boot is a trophy awarded each year to the winner of the Battle for the Golden Boot football matchup (set on the day after Thanksgiving) between the Arkansas Razorbacks and the LSU Tigers, which is played on alternating years in either Arkansas (generally Little Rock, which is the secondary home stadium for the Razorbacks), or Louisiana (always Baton Rouge). The trophy was introduced to the series prior to the 1996 season.[1] It weighs approximately 175 pounds (a little less than 80 kilograms) and is believed to be the heaviest trophy awarded in a college football rivalry.[2]
The trophy itself stands a little over 4 feet tall, is molded out of 24-karat gold, and resembles the outline of the states of Arkansas and Louisiana connected, thus making a boot shape.
