Gilly Campbell (William Gilthorpe Campbell) was born on February 13, 1908 in Kansas City, Kansas. He made his Major League debut on April 25, 1933 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1935, his rookie year, he hit .257 with 3 home runs and 30 RBI. Campbell played for the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 5 year career.
