Giants To Keep Coughlin-Big Mistake

The New York Giants have announced today that coach Tom Coughlin will not be a casualty of their lackluster 8-8 season. Without a major player overhaul, this decision is a big mistake.
One reason is that he clearly lost this team. For all of the distractions this season, the comments that have been made in the press, Jeremy Shockey talking about the team being outcoached, Burress and Strahan's feud that began on WFAN, and the countless other situations that showed that the players are running this asylum. Them coming back to win their last game was more a statement for sending Tiki Barber to his final playoff then coming together for the coach. They were not motivated to play for this guy anymore.
Another reason is the lack of Eli Manning's progress. He is not only not getting better, he is actually getting worse. Watch his games, and you will see Eli's issue when being rushed. He gets happy feet, and never steps up in the pocket when he is under fire. He throws off his back foot, and his throws lack a great deal of accuracy. Watch his brother, that never happens. This comes from a lack of coaching. Kevin Gilbride has done nothing for this guy.
This is just an opinion, but this group is not going to play for Coughlin. They don't like his style, and they gave up on him already this year. He comes back, the team will not do any better, unless Jeremy Shockey and the other thugs do not return.
