Ghost to the Post
Ghost to the Post refers to a play in the double-overtime 1977 AFC playoff game between the Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Colts, played in Baltimore's Memorial Stadium.
The play was a 42 yard passing play that set up a game tying field goal late in the 4th quarter. Raiders quarterback Ken Stabler connected with Dave "The Ghost" Casper. Casper then went on to catch the game winning touchdown pass in the second overtime period. He finished the game with 4 receptions for 70 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Radiers went on to win that game in double overtime to advanced to the AFC Championship game against the Denver Broncos, while the Colts fell on hard times and in 1984, after 6 straight losing seasons, the Colts sneaked out of Baltimore and headed to Indianapolis to become the Indianapolis Colts.
