Born on August 24, 1914 in Turbeville, South Carolina, George Turbeville (George Elkins Turbeville) played for the Philadelphia Athletics for his entire 3 year career. Turbeville broke into the bigs on July 20, 1935 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 7.63 ERA in 63.2 innings pitched in 1935, his rookie year.
