Born on December 24, 1913 in New Brookfield, South Carolina, George Jeffcoat (George Edward Jeffcoat) played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Boston Braves over the course of his 4 year career. Jeffcoat broke into the bigs on April 20, 1936 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, and put up a 4.52 ERA in 95.2 innings pitched in 1936, his rookie year.
