George Hughes (George Samuel Hughes) was born on August 19, 1925 in Norfolk, Virginia. After going to high school at Maury (Norfolk, VA), Hughes attended The College of William & Mary. Hughes made his professional debut in the NFL in 1950 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 5 year career.
Most people believe that 1954 was George Hughes's best year.
