George Hall (George William Hall) was born on March 29, 1849 in Stepney, England. He made his Major League debut on May 5, 1871 for the Washington Olympics. In 1871, his rookie year, he hit .294 with 2 home runs and 17 RBI. Hall played for the Washington Olympics, Baltimore Canaries, Boston Red Stockings, Philadelphia Athletics and Louisville Grays over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that George Hall's best season was 1875, when he hit for a .299 average and knocked in 62 runs.
