Gene Leek (Eugene Harold Leek) was born on July 15, 1936 in San Diego, California. He made his Major League debut on April 22, 1959 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1961, his rookie year, he hit .226 with 5 home runs and 20 RBI. Leek played for the Cleveland Indians and Los Angeles Angels over the course of his 3 year career.
