Gene Hamlin (Eugene Robert Hamlin) was born on July 26, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. After going to high school at Redford (Detroit, MI), Hamlin attended Western Michigan University. Hamlin made his professional debut in the NFL in 1970 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins over the course of his 3 year career.
