Gene Golsen (Eugene William Golsen) was born on July 6, 1902. After going to high school at Georgetown Prep (Washington, DC) and Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL), Golsen attended Georgetown University. Golsen made his professional debut in the NFL in 1926 with the Louisville Colonels. He played for the Louisville Colonels for his entire 1 year career.
