Gene DeMontreville (Eugene Napoleon DeMontreville) was born on March 10, 1873 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He made his Major League debut on August 20, 1894 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1896, his rookie year, he hit .343 with 8 home runs and 77 RBI.
