Gene Branton (Rheugene James Branton) was born on November 23, 1960 in Tampa, Florida. After going to high school at King (Tampa, FL), Branton attended Texas Southern University. Branton made his professional debut in the NFL in 1983 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his entire 2 year career.
