Gene Babb (Gene Walter Babb) was born on December 27, 1934 in El Paso, Texas. After going to high school at Odessa (TX), Babb attended the University of Texas at Austin. Babb made his professional debut in the NFL in 1957 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played in the NFL for 4 years, playing for the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers over the course of his 4 year NFL career.Babb also played in the AFL for 2 years, playing for the Houston Oilers the entire time.

Most people believe that 1957 was Gene Babb's best year.
