Gary Carter (Gary Edmund Carter) was born on April 8, 1954 in Culver City, California. He made his Major League debut on September 16, 1974 for the Montreal Expos. In 1975, his rookie year, he hit .270 with 17 home runs and 68 RBI. Carter played for the Montreal Expos, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers over the course of his 19 year career.

Most people believe that Gary Carter's best season was 1984, when he slugged 27 home runs, hit for a .294 average and knocked in 106 runs.
