Garrison Hearst (Gerald Garrison Hearst) was born on January 4, 1971 in Lincolnton, Georgia. After going to high school at Lincoln County (Lincolnton, GA), Hearst attended the University of Georgia. Hearst made his professional debut in the NFL in 1993 with the Phoenix Cardinals. He played for the San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, Cincinnati Bengals and Phoenix Cardinals over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that 1998 was Garrison Hearst's best year, as he ran for 1570 yards, ran in 7 TDs, ran for an average of 5.1 yards per carry, hauled in 39 receptions and had 535 receiving yards.

Suffered from the same condition that forced Bo Jackson to retire from the NFL, but became the first player in history to come back from the injury. He won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award in 2001, amazingly rushing for 1,206 yards with the San Francisco 49ers.

Cut by the Niners after the 2004 season, Hearst was signed by the Denver Broncos but broke his hand midway through the 2005 season and was not resigned following the year. He is currently unsigned and his career may be over since he is currently 35 years old.
