Garnett should move on to greener pastures

I came home from my 9-5 job yesterday and turn the channel to ESPN as I do routinely. Pardon the Interruption is on, and on the bottom of the screen it says "Garnett to Bulls?" My eyes popped open like Ralph Cramden on "The Honeymooners." Could it be, could it finally be happening? Could Garnett finally leave this franchise that has hung him out to dry? Then I hear of the Tyson Chandler for PJ Brown/J.R Smith and realize that today wasn't the day for it to happen. Ironically, one of Kevin Garnett's aunts works with me in my department. She is proud of KG and gives him tremondous credit for sticking with this franchise and having a sense of loyalty that most athletes have little to none of today. I agree with her wholeheartedly and then I think to myself what a shame (and failure) it is that the T-Wolves haven't repaid his loyalty by putting a decent team around him. Michael Jordan had Scottie Pippen, Kobe Bryant had Shaquille O'Neal and the common denominator was Phil Jackson. Arguably, Kevin Garnett's best teammate was Sam Cassell and it showed during their run to the Western Conference finals in their first year together. The T-Wolves weren't willing to pay Cassell to keep the good run going. Sprewell didn't re-sign with Minnesota and at this point should just retire because he is stubborn beyond belief. I'm sure Wolves fans were hoping that when they would get some sort of upgrade when Flip Saunders left, nope - Dwayne Casey. Then they traded away Wally Szczerbiak and Michael Olowakandi for Ricky Davis and Mark Blount just to make it look as if they were trying to make a change. Mark Blount is no better than Kwame Brown these days. The T-Wolves as constructed will finish at least 11th in the Western Conference. Their draft choices (shown below) haven't been potent at all except for Wally Szczerbiak and Ray Allen, who was traded to the Bucks!!

2005 Rnd Name College/HS/Country Note 1 Rashad McCants North Carolina 2 Bracey Wright Indiana

2000 Rnd Name College/HS/Country Note 2 Igor Rakocevic Yugoslavia

1999 Rnd Name College/HS/Country Note 1 Wally Szczerbiak Miami(OH) 1 William Avery Duke 2 Louis Bullock Michigan

1998 Rnd Name College/HS/Country Note 1 Radoslav Nesterovic Slovenia 2 Andrae Patterson Indiana

1997 Rnd Name College/HS/Country Note 1 Paul Grant Wisconsin 2 Gordon Malone West Virginia

1996 Rnd Name College/HS/Country Note 1 Ray Allen Connecticut

1995 Rnd Name College/HS/Country Note 1 Kevin Garnett Farragut Academy (IL) 2 Mark Davis Texas Tech

Garnett has given his heart and soul to the T-Wolves and they've given him an inch of it back. His frustration was evident last season. While teams like the Bulls, Cavaliers, Kings, Clippers and Lakers are moving forward, the T-Wolves are running in place. Did anyone hear of the T-Wolves getting involved in any trades, deals or free agency at all in these past weeks? It's been rumored that Ben Wallace has asked for the Bulls to consider signing Garnett. Imagine a frontcourt with Nocioni, Garnett and Wallace. Time for Garnett to leave the dead weight behind and run with the Bulls. Or any team besides the Wolves.

Garnett will be a Bull by the start of the season. They can package a great deal for the T-Wolves as they start over, and getting KG makes the Bulls a title contender.

I hope you're right, I would love see Garnett a Bull. But what would it cost to get him? Gordon and the Knicks 2007 first round for starters.

I would hate for the bulls to trade ben gordon and others for garnett. the bulls have a slew of youngsters with a lot of promise, and if they do indeed trade those youngsters for garnett, then they had better win this season or else the bulls will find themselves in quite a pickle. They will have an aging ben wallace/garnett, and no prospects, as they traded them away. The prospects they would retain will be no better, as they had no time to develop with KG hogging the floor.

Garnett may be a great player, but he can't be a leader. Some guys have it, and some don't. He doesn't. He will never win unless he goes somewhere that he is not the primary star. He has been very lucky the Timberwolves were so generous with his Contract.he is overpaid and Overrated.....and thats a fact.
