Fritz Slackford (Frederick John Slackford) was born on March 27, 1894 in Danbury, Ohio. After going to high school at Sandusky (OH), Slackford attended the University of Notre Dame. Slackford made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Dayton Triangles. He played for the Canton Bulldogs and Dayton Triangles over the course of his 2 year career.
