Born on June 28, 1941 in Washington, D.C., Fred Talbot (Frederick Lealand Talbot) played for the Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Athletics, New York Yankees, Seattle Pilots and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 8 year career. Talbot broke into the bigs on September 28, 1963 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.70 ERA in 75.1 innings pitched in 1964, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Fred Talbot's best season was 1965, when he posted a 4.14 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 117 batters.
