Fred Land (Frederick N. Land) was born on May 8, 1925 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. After going to high school at Central (Little Rock, AR), Land attended Louisiana State University. Land made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1948 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the San Francisco 49ers for his entire 1 year career.
