Fred Crane (Frederick William Hotchkiss Crane) was born on November 4, 1840 in Saybrook, Connecticut. He made his Major League debut on May 26, 1873 for the Elizabeth Resolutes. Crane played for the Elizabeth Resolutes and Brooklyn Atlantics over the course of his 2 year career.
