Fred Corey (Frederick Harrison Corey) was born on 1855 in Coventry, Rhode Island. He made his Major League debut on May 1, 1878 for the Providence Grays. In 1880, his rookie year, he hit .174 with 0 home runs and 6 RBI. Corey played for the Providence Grays, Worcester Ruby Legs and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Fred Corey's best season was 1884, when he hit for a .276 average.
