Born on December 31, 1879 in Lincoln, Nebraska, Fred Beebe (Frederick Leonard Beebe) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 7 year career. Beebe broke into the bigs on April 17, 1906 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.93 ERA in 230.2 innings pitched in 1906, his rookie year. He led the major league's with 181 strikeouts.

Most people believe that Fred Beebe's best season was 1906, when he posted a 2.93 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 171 batters.

He died in Elgin, Illinois.
