Frank Hubbell (Franklin S. Hubell) was born on January 19, 1922 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. After going to high school at Central (Bridgeport, CT), Hubbell attended the University of Tennessee. Hubbell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1947 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Los Angeles Rams for his entire 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1948 was Frank Hubbell's best year, as he recovered 3 opponents fumbles.
