[edit] Biography

Fernando Vina (Fernando Vina) was born on April 16, 1969 in Sacramento, California. He made his Major League debut on April 10, 1993 for the Seattle Mariners. In 1995, his rookie year, he hit .257 with 3 home runs and 29 RBI. Vina played for the Seattle Mariners, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Fernando Vina's best season was 1998, when he hit for a .311 average.

Vina was also one of the players named in baseball's Mitchell Report. According to the report, Vina met former Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski in 1993. Radomski claims that he sold Vina steroids or HGH between 6 and 8 times from 2000 to 2005. Radomski was able to produce 3 checks that he received from Vina, one for HGH, one for Winstrol, and one for Deca-Durabolin. Vina's name, address, and two telephone numbers were found in Radomski's seized address book.

Vina, like most players, declined to speak with investigators for the Mitchell Report.
