Fatty Briody (Charles F. Briody) was born on August 13, 1858 in Lansingburg, New York. He made his Major League debut on June 16, 1880 for the Troy Trojans. In 1882, his rookie year, he hit .258 with 0 home runs and 13 RBI. Briody played for the Troy Trojans, Cleveland Spiders, Cincinnati Outlaw Reds, St. Louis Maroons, Kansas City Cowboys and Detroit Wolverines over the course of his 8 year career.
