My god, what happened in week 1? We all have our horror stories of who didn't do well for your team. From Larry Fitzgerald to Joe Horn to Drew Brees to Steven Jackson (2 fumbles in 1 game?) to Reggie Bush to (insert name here). One manager in one of my leagues actually offered me Trent Green for Larry Fitzgerald because I have Drew Brees and both Fitz & Drew how should I say - underperformed!? Do I look like an idot? Of course I rejected that trade.
If you won this past week, congrats... if not (like me in a few leagues) then better luck next week. Sorry to keep it short & sweet - still reeling from a couple of big looses.
Week 1 Fantasy Gods
- Tony Romo - 345 yrds 4 TD's!!
- Eli Manning - 312 yrds 4 TD's
- Tom Brady - 297 yrds 3 TD's
- Plaxico Burress - 8 Rec 144 yrds 3 TD's
- Randy Moss - 9 Rec 183 yrds 1 TD
- Adrian Peterson - 163 total yrds 1 TD
- Chris Brown - 178 total yrds

- Antonio Gates - 9 Rec 107 yrds 1 TD

- Houston defense - 3 pts allowed 2 Int 3 Fumble recoveries 1 TD
Injury Report
- D.J. Hackett - High ankle sprain. Out indefinately.
- Josh Scobee - Strained right quads. Questionable for week 2. Go with another kicker if you have Scobee.
- Chad Pennington - Injured right ankle during 3rd quarter of the game with New England. Rookie Kellen Clemens Has been named the starter so far. No matter who the starter is for the Jets, don't play them. The Jets play Baltimore in week 2.
- Brandon Jacobs - Sprained MCL and is expected to miss 3 to 5 weeks. Derrick Ward will get the start against Packers.
- Cadillac Williams Bruised ribs. Questionable for week 2 against New Orleans.
- Steve McNair - Groin Injury. He left in the 4th quarter with this. Kyle Boller replaced McNair.
- Greg Jennings - Injured hamstring. He was left out of the game as a precautionary measure. Should be active in week 2 against the Giants. Concider Jennings a low end #2 maybe even a #3 WR until he gets back into the swing of things.
- Eli Manning - Suffored a sore shoulder in week 1 against the Cowboys. Tom Coughlin stated that Eli is day to day so we'll see.
Must starts
- All Cincinnati Bengals you can. The Browns, are still licking thier wounds and wondering what kind of mack truck that hit them. Expect more of the same with Ocho cinco, Palmer and company.
- Bernard Berrian - The Bears against a weak Chiefs defense? Gotta like Bernards chances of scoring big here.
- Brian Westbrook - Monday night against the Skins have to like this. Oh by the way, in 4 out of the last 5 matchups against Washington, Westbrook has gone over 100 yrds.
- Willie Parker & Hines Ward - Against [Buffalo Bills|Buffalo]] - file this one under D for DUH!
Low risk / high reward starts
- Drew Brees - Brees bit the bucket last week against the Colts but in week 2, the Saints play a weak Tampa Bay team. In two starts against Tampa Bay last season, Brees had 485 yards 4 TD's 0 Int's and a 111.4 passer rating just to give you an idea.
- Adrian Peterson - The Vikings play against the Lions in week 2. Yes the Lions did win however, as Michael Fabiano said so elloquently, "The Lions made LaMont Jordan look like Marcus Allen". Do I need to say more here?
- Packers defense - The Packers play a Giants team that will be without Brandon Jacobs and possibly Eli Manning as well. An under-rated defense with a favoritable matchup - I'd take this risk.
- Jon Kitna - With Minnesota putting the pressure for Kitna to throw (and he will) with all the weapons available to him, I like this matchup - will probably put up 250 yrds & 2 TD's (about the same as he did in week 1).
- Cedric Benson - In Chicago against a weak KC defense - See Bernard Berrian.
High risk starts
- Larry Johnson - Chicago's defense held LaDainian Tomlinson to 25 yards on the ground. Kansas City doesn't have as strong of an offensive line as San Diego's so expect Chicago to stop Johnson.
- Joe Horn - Well I guess that the party is over in sunny Atlanta. Joe didn't do jack nor shiznit against the Vikings. Now the Falcons face a stronger Jacksonville team expect more the same.
- Ronnie Brown - He didn't produce in week 1 (11 attempts for 32 yrds); Dallas has a much better defense than Washington so I would either bench Ronnie or use him as a very low end #2 or #3 RB but don't expect much.
- Lee Evans - If you have to resort in using Evans this week against Pitt, then you have problems and need to correct ASAP.
Sleepers of the week
- Shaun McDonald - Shaun had 6 receptions for 90 Yrds and a TD against Oakland in week 1. In week 2, Jon Kitna will be forced to throw a lot. Besides, after actually watching the entire week 1's game, I just couldn't resist being the Lions slappy that I am. If anyone else watched the game, you'll know what I mean by me saying Shaun has the potential to become a decent #3 WR in deeper leagues.
- Darrell Jackson - Yes Arnaz Battle ouperformed Jackson in week 1 but against the Rams, Jackson should be a must start and should come out strong with about 80 yrds & 1 TD.
