Ernie Young (Ernest Wesley Young) was born on July 8, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on May 17, 1994 for the Oakland Athletics. In 1996, his rookie year, he hit .242 with 19 home runs and 64 RBI. Young played for the Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Ernie Young's best season was 1996, when he slugged 19 home runs and knocked in 64 runs.
