Ernie Jackson (Earnest Jackson) was born on April 11, 1950 in Hopkins, South Carolina. After going to high school at Lower Richland (Hopkins, SC), Jackson attended Duke University. Jackson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1972 with the New Orleans Saints. He played for the New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1972 was Ernie Jackson's best year, as he picked off 3 passes and ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
