Born on May 18, 1965 in Kinnelon, New Jersey, Erik Hanson (Erik Brian Hanson) played for the Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays over the course of his 11 year career. Hanson broke into the bigs on September 5, 1988 with the Seattle Mariners, and put up a 3.18 ERA in 113.1 innings pitched in 1989, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Erik Hanson's best season was 1990, when he posted a 3.24 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 211 batters.
